Cosmetic Acupuncture + Microneedling

Does your anti-aging + beauty regimen also improve your overall health and wellbeing?

Beauty is the exterior manifestation of interior health. Looking your best requires taking care of yourself physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically and supporting your skin from the inside out.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture focuses on your overall health while ALSO addressing the specific concerns and signs of aging that are visible externally. In addition to precise facial needles used to lift, tone and address fine lines, supportive body acupuncture points are used, as well as LED light therapy and guasha massage to promote circulation, lymphatic drainage, and collagen building.

Microneedling is a minimally invasive but targeted way to increase skin luminosity, clarity and tone and decrease the appearance of fine lines. Microneedling has also been shown to be effective at hair regrowth.

The microneedling device creates controlled, precise micro-injuries which “trick” the skin into repairing itself. The repair process releases fibroblasts and growth factors, stimulating the production of fresh collagen and elastin: two essential elements of plump, luminous skin. Results continue to be seen as the skin’s natural repair process continues and cell turnover increases.

55 minutes

4 and 8-series packages available

What can Microneedling treat:

Acne · Acne scars · Collagen Production · Fine Lines & Moderate Wrinkles · Pore Size · Texture & Tone · Traumatic Scars · Photo Aging & Sun Damage · Hyperpigmentation · Hair Loss

Microneedling treatment starts with the application of topical numbing cream and a protocol of gentle acupuncture needles to promote relaxation, followed by 20 minutes of Celluma Pro LED light therapy. The microneedling device is then used over the treatment areas, creating thousands of tiny micro-channels to kickstart natural collagen production. A cooling mask is applied at the end of treatment to calm and soothe the skin.

After each microneedling session, the natural process of skin repair continues for a few months. You’ll likely notice reduced pore size, fine lines, scars/discoloration and a brighter, tighter and more luminous complexion.

Best results are achieved with a series of 4 to 6 treatments to boost collagen production, or a more intense series of 8 to 10 treatments to improve acne scars, deeper discoloration, and/or fine lines or treat hair loss Treatments should be spaced every 4 weeks (facial) or every 2-4 weeks (scalp) for best results.

FAQs

What Results Can Be Achieved Through Cosmetic Acupuncture?
Cosmetic acupuncture treatment offers several aesthetic and wellness benefits. Most clients notice a difference in the skin and body almost immediately. Your skin will appear fresh and plump after the first treatment. You will also feel refreshed and relaxed. It is also a powerful treatment for sleep disorders.

Our acupuncture treatments work at the cellular level. Over time, they enhance cellular function to give you smooth and flawless skin. Whether you opt for a specialised facial, acupuncture treatment, or medical microneedling – you will feel healthier, happier, and relaxed. Your skin health will improve significantly.

However, it must be noted that it takes time to rejuvenate the skin and body from within. Therefore, while some results appear before the others, typically, it takes around six weeks to see the full range of cosmetic and wellness results.

Why Do I Have To Wait for Six Weeks To See Significant Changes?
Most significant changes in skin health largely depend on your skin cycle. The skin cycle is the time it takes for new skin cells to develop in the deeper layers of the skin and gradually move to the surface until they are shed off. The average skin cycle lasts for about 5 to 6 weeks.

Typically, in younger people (19 to 21 years), the skin cycle lasts for 14 to 21 days, while it takes around 28 days to complete in adults. Over the year, the cellular renewal slows down to 45 to 60 days during the 40’s and 50’s. It can slow down further to 60 to 90 days if you are 50- 60 years old.

The shorter the skin cycle, the younger your skin will appear. Through cosmetic acupuncture treatments, regular skincare routine, and healthy lifestyle choices, we can maintain an average 28-day (or shorter) skin cycle.

It generally takes 1 to 3 skin cycles (6 to 18 weeks) to see the results of cosmetic acupuncture treatment or any new skincare regime. The 6-week period gives the treatment the chance to work on the cellular level to enhance the health, strength, and vitality of skin cells.

How Many Treatments Do I Need? How Often Will I Need Treatments?

The exact number of treatments required will depend on the current health of your skin and what you are hoping to achieve. You can opt for any of the following.

One-Off Treatments: One-off treatments are ideal for boosting skin radiance, rejuvenating the complexion, and achieving glowing skin.

3 to 6 Treatments: We recommend 3 to 6 treatments for specific minor issues, such as fine lines, acne flare ups, puffiness, under eye fine lines. For more acute skin issues, such as acne scars, 6 or more treatments may be required to enhance over all skin health and see a sustained and significant improvement in the appearance. These treatments are usually timed at weekly intervals.

6 to 12 Treatments: The effect of the treatments is cumulative. Therefore, we recommend a course of 6 to 12 treatments to manifest long-term benefits. Post-course maintenance treatments – 1 to 2 treatments per month – are also highly recommended to maintain the benefits.

Are There Any Side Effects Of Cosmetic Acupuncture? Cosmetic acupuncture is a 100% natural treatment with no side effects. It is safe, effective, and nearly completely painless. Minor bruising may appear in some cases.

Why Do I Need A Course Of Treatment? A course of treatment typically contains 6 to 12 treatments spanned over 3 to 12 weeks. Aesthetic and wellness benefits are reported to appear after 3 to 6 weeks.

You need to go through a treatment process because it takes a period of 3 months for new rejuvenated skin cells to migrate to the surface of the skin, with improved cells following beneath. In simpler terms, a continued course of treatment is essential to manifest the full range of benefits.

How many sessions will I need?
The treatment plan will depend on your symptoms and the health and wellness goals we establish together.  I usually recommend a series of weekly treatments to start your healing process. Some conditions resolve in just a few treatments, while others require regular sessions to keep the body balanced and the symptoms at bay. Together we will create a treatment plan that works best for your wellness goals.

Who Should Avoid Cosmetic Acupuncture?
While cosmetic acupuncture is a safe and natural process, it is recommended for people with certain health conditions to avoid it. Cosmetic acupuncture (and medical microneedling) is not suitable for individuals who may be suffering from cancer, blood clotting disorders, hemophilia, bruising disorder, epilepsy, or seizures.

Does The Cosmetic Acupuncture Treatment Hurt? Cosmetic acupuncture treatment is virtually painless and very gentle on the skin. We use ultra-fine needles that are specially designed to treat the soft and delicate skin of the face, neck, ears, and other parts of the body.

At most, you may feel a tingling sensation at the needling site. However, it will not last for more than a second. To make your experience more comfortable, we apply a topical anesthetic cream to numb the area of concern during medical microneedling.

Is It Safe For Expecting And Feeding Mothers To Get Cosmetic Acupuncture And Microneedling? Cosmetic acupuncture and medical microneedling treatments are not suitable for pregnant women. However, it is completely safe for breastfeeding mothers. In fact, acupuncture treatments can balance hormones and blood flow in the body to help you recover after pregnancy and childbirth.

Can I Have Cosmetic Acupuncture After Botox? Many people opt for cosmetic acupuncture after Botox for additional benefits. However, it is recommended to wait for at least four weeks after Botox or fillers to get acupuncture treatments or medical microneedling. This will give the Botox or fillers enough time to settle down, making sure that your treatment does not interfere with Botox.

I’m pregnant, is Acupuncture safe?
Absolutely! Whether it’s for nausea in the early months, or for acid reflux, swelling and pain towards the end, acupuncture can help throughout pregnancy.  If you are interested in using acupuncture to help you prepare for labor, I recommend you start coming in weekly in your third trimester (no later than 37 weeks).
